I don’t do Keto but I DO drink Keto Coffee; and here’s why.
Feb 11, 2025First, let’s talk about what exactly is Keto Coffee? Consider it coffee 2.0, you’re daily cup of joe… just upgraded. Keto coffee combines black coffee with healthy fats from either grass fed butter, MCT oil/coconut oil, or both. Some, like myself, even add a scoop of collagen protein to really hone in on the benefits. The result becomes a deliciously frothy concoction of perfection.
But why?!
If you are following a ketogenic diet, the above is great at keeping you in ketosis while adding some protein and healthy fats that will keep you feeling full, sometimes all the way until lunchtime. With just these few ingredients your coffee can improve your focus, increase your energy, boost your ketone levels, and help you burn fat to boot!
But that is not why I drink keto coffee. To put it simply my digestion is, well, shit. It seems I get bloated just about after everything I eat, and carrying around a 6 month old baby belly when you’re not actually pregnant is not a look I’m striving for. So, in the process of healing my gut, regulating my insulin levels and eating more mindfully, I’ve decided to give this viral trend a try.
It’s AMAZING!!
I’ve always drank my coffee black with collagen peptides added, so mixing in a bit of coconut oil and blending it all together seems like a treat. Do not be fooled though; use.an.actual.blender. to achieve the frothy and creamy texture, otherwise you just end up with a layer of oil swirling around on the top of your coffee (trust me I’ve learned this the hard way!). I also don’t add the butter, it just seems a little too much for me.
My point is… do what works for you! Do your research and see if it aligns with your goals. If it does then I guarantee that you too will look forward to going to bed every night excited for your next cup the following morning!
